Education:
I enjoy doing anything but sitting still. I love to make toys and playing with wood. Here is the playhouse I built for my children (400K).
I earned an AA in General Education through Cerro Coso Community College, a BA in Management (BAM) and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) through the University of Phoenix. Greetings to all UOP students and Alumni everywhere!
I have been a registered Cub Scout leader for ten years as a part of the Desert District of the Southern Sierra Council. I am the Desert District Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner and a Cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 413 in California City. I have been a Den Leader for tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos, and I have also served as an Assistant Cubmaster. I have also served on Day Camp staff, Powwow staff, and as a Powwow Chairman. I spent a couple of years as a Cub Scout Leader Trainer as well (is this Scouting thing addictive or what?!!?). I attended Cub Scout Leader Wood Badge (W-CS-45) in September 1999 in Colorado (Antelope). I officially completed my ticket in June 2000 and received my regalia on September 18, 2000.
I attended the Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioners Conference at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico from July 29-August 4, 2001. What an incredible place! Hello to all of my fellow participants and new friends and their family members! Thank you to all of you who visited my neckerchief slide display at Show and Tell. I hope it was useful information.
Cub Scout Pack 413 participated in the California City Desert Tortoise Days Parade on May 1, 1999. We received a first place plaque for the "Youth Organization Float" category and the "Sweepstakes Trophy" for Best Overall Presentation (first place for the entire parade!). Our parade float for the May 6, 2000 event also won first place for "Youth Organization Float" and "Sweepstakes".
2001's Desert Tortoise Days Parade float began to take shape early. On May 5, 2001 we took the Sweepstakes for the thrid year in a row. Here is this year's float. Thanks to Shawn Sprague Construction, Fire Ace, and all the parents and Cub Scouts that made this parade entry possible.
In 2001 we faced some good-natured competition from my sister's Girl Scout Troop. Her float took first place for Youth Organization Floats. Congratulations Troop 176!
In 2002 we took the "Theme Trophy" for our Statue of Liberty/Uncle Sam float.
Here is the 2004 parade float entry for the Girl Scouts. Sweepstake Winner.
Last year's Halloween decorations.
This year we did Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I hope the 805 people that showed up for Halloween this year enjoyed the display.
Pack 413 organized and held our first bicycle rodeo. Officer Fender from the California City Police Department registered our bicycles. Then we learned bicycle safety and tested ourselves on the bicycle skills course. Later we did a community service project by cleaning up Balsistis Park. Here we are.
We want to hear from you. Tell us about your Pack activities.
