Flood

On July 12, 2003 Teresa and I went to Lancaster shopping. One of the items I was planning to buy was a table saw that Sears had on sale. We were going to remodel our kitchen with new cabinets. Because our kitchen is so small (7' 11" X 8' 0") we cannot buy premade cabinets without wasting a lot of space so we were planning on building them ourselves. When we got home we had water running out of our garage. A washing machine hose in the garage had burst and the hole in the hose was aimed right at the common wall to my office/computer room. What a mess. Unfortunately most of my furniture was made from particle board. When particle board gets wet it swells up and falls apart, so most of the furniture in the room was a loss. Fortunately the computer was not damaged (except for my router). Our insurance paid to make the repairs to the house and to replace the furniture. It is made with 3/4" Oak plywood and solid oak, also the new table saw is getting a good workout. The kitchen remodel has been put on the back burner until the other repairs have been completed.

Below are photos of some of the damage.
